At present our activities are concentrated in the four
middle schools & two high schools in Leek. We work with volunteers doing lessons,
assemblies, mentoring, lunchtime clubs and transition work, with the aim of
building positive relationships with the staff and young people, so that we can
help in practical ways and demonstrate God’s character and love. We also work with young people at Werrington Young Offenders Prison and have recently taken on the Chaplaincy of Leek College where again we are working to care for staff and young people alike.
One to one...
Life’s not always plain sailing and if you need someone to chat with in confidence we’re around in Westwood, Leek High and St Edwards. You can arrange to have a chat either through the contact details on this site or through speaking to your head of year or house at school. If you don’t go to one of the schools we’re available in you can get in touch any way and we can arrange to meet up in a coffee shop.
LifeForce... (St Edward's Academy)
Whether you're not at all sure about God or pretty certain he's important in your life, join us at lunchtimes on Tuesdays where we run games and activities based on Christian themes and Bible stories to help you explore Christianity further.
Puppet Club... (St Edward's Academy)
Puppet Club aims to improve the self-esteem and confidence of pupils. We work on songs and plays to perform for school assemblies and have also performed at school fairs and at First schools.
20-20 (Churnet View Middle School & Leek High School)
20-20 is a time and place to relax with opportunities for games and activities that help you think a bit more about God in your life.
Assemblies...
Keep your eyes open for us in your assemblies at Churnet View, Leek High and St Edward's for games, drama and incredibly interesting chats!
Lessons...
If you go to Churnet View, St Edward's or Leek High, you’re in luck as our wonderful team will be visiting your RE lessons during the year to teach about part of your curriculum so be prepared for interactive stuff and activities to get you thinking.
If you go to Westwood College you might have us taking your Life Skills class once a week. We like to do projects that help you evaluate your values, perceptions and life in general.
Sacred Space
New Ideas
An important part of the project is doing new things as we discover more of what young people need and more ways of getting involved in the schools, churches and community. Any suggestions would be welcome, please let us know if you have any!
